Dimensions beyond ten

I don't have anything solid, but this project is about exploring ideas, so, here I go.

I've been thinking about the tenth dimension and I've been wondering why there can only exist one point within it. As I read, and reread Rob's description of the tenth dimension in chapter one, a thought hit me. He says that this is the end because this point contains all of the possible branches of all of the possible timelines of all of the possible universes. However (again, merely thoughts here, might be very wrong), don't you think that this could possibly be assuming too much? Why assume that non Big Bang universes should be accounted for in this tenth-dimensional point?

I know I'm making an assumption myself here in that we have no evidence for universes starting in any other way. However, since Rob addresses it in his book, I took the idea and ran with it. My idea is that only the big bang (or maybe there are different kinds of big bangs, in which case only our specific type of big bang) should be accounted for in this tenth-dimensional point. I say this because maybe within this point our type of big bang is the only way possible for universes to begin.

This brings me to my larger idea that there could be other tenth-dimensional points in which universes are created in a different way that are only possible within that version of the tenth dimension. And, if this is correct, we have two points that can be connected with a line. We don't have any trouble now imagining other tenth-dimensional points, therefore we have yet another point not on this line in which to branch off of, taking us into the eleventh dimension. Now you can continue the cycle and fold an eleventh-dimensional line through the 12th dimension in order to instantly jumped to another eleventh-dimensional line.

The final dimension then (At least so far. I'd like to hear input on this before possibly going any further.) would be the 13th, which would be a point containing everything in the 12 dimensions below. In other words, a point in the 13th dimension would encompass all of the possible branches of all of the possible timelines of all of the possible universes of all of the possible initial conditions.

Hi MacGyver, interesting thoughts. As I say in my song "The Unseen Eye", I agree with what quantum computing expert Seth Lloyd and other proponents of Digital Physics say: the big bang is an illusion, and is better thought of as the first binary yes/no that separates out our universe from all others. There are certainly other possible universes with other possible starting points that can be imagined within this approach to the ten dimensions. This is what I talk about in entries like

So in Seth Lloyd's approach, initial conditions are essentially all the same since it's a simple binary yes/no? A universe with a big bang initial condition and another with a <something else> initial condition shouldn't be pointed out as two distinct ideas?

In his book Programming the Universe, Dr. Lloyd doesn't talk much about the other universes with different initial conditions, so I should be careful not to put words in his mouth. The point of thinking about the big bang as being more like the first yes/no that begins to separate out our universe from the indeterminate background where all universes exist as potential is something I wrote in my book and this forum long before I saw Dr. Lloyd's book, I've simply glommed onto it because it aligns so nicely with the things I've been saying.

A particular universe with a particular set of constants will have a way of beginning, existing, and ending that is consistent with that universe's basic physical laws. This includes universes where "time" appears to flow in the opposite direction, another idea I advanced with the release of my book almost three years ago which is receiving much more attention from mainstream science in the past year (not because those scientists are listening to me, but because the idea makes logical sense). How would a universe begin if time flowed in the opposite direction? Rather than a big bang, it would appear to gradually coalesce from disorder into order.

I'm sure we could come up with other "beginning" scenarios as well, as defined by other variations of the fine structure constants - for instance, how would a universe with a much higher value for gravity begin? It would probably not be able to go through an expansion phase. I've quoted this bit from my book before:

The currently accepted version of the big bang is known as “inflationary cosmology”, in which it is proposed that the size of the universe increased by a factor greater than a million trillion trillion in less than a millionth of a trillionth of a trillionth of a second. Does this mind-boggling amount of sudden inflation not sound more like the flipping of a gigantic yes/no toggle switch?
